About this project

Arrow Metal is top of the class in creating metal balustrade for schools, giving students at St Ursula’s College in Kingsgrove, South West Sydney, a safe and modern route to learning for the college’s multi-stage redevelopment.

Produced for project suppliers ABC Fabrications & Balustrades, Arrow Metal created 3mm perforated metal aluminium panels in a classic and contemporary small round design, which were then powder coated by ABC Fabrications & Balustrades for the finishing touch.

Metal balustrade for schools: A top grade solution from Arrow Metal

The perforated metal balustrade is used throughout the new campus of St Ursula’s College, which includes a new three-storey building, library, breakout areas, flexible learning spaces and science labs.

Designed by JDH Architects to reflect the college’s vision of ‘igniting the spirit’ of its students, the school’s Master Building Plan – created in collaboration with students, staff and the community – also includes a new purpose-built administration building.

Metal balustrade ordering process: Working in partnership

Arrow Metal is working in close partnership with ABC Fabrications & Balustrades for the different on-going stages of the project.

Each metal panel is precisely perforated and precision manufactured for a perfect fit on site, creating modern and safe staircases suited to the challenges of a dynamic and busy school environment.

St Ursula’s College: Inspired learning

Inspiring its students to develop a love of learning and enabling them to reach their full potential, St Ursula’s College was founded in 1957 by the Ursuline Sisters with just 56 students. Today the enrolment has grown to over 1,000 pupils, 70 teachers and 20 ancillary staff thanks to the school’s reputation for academic excellence and pastoral care. The new campus sits alongside the site’s existing buildings and its rich Catholic heritage.
