About this project

Perforated Retail Facade, Stockland Gables

What’s the most cost-effective way to stand out in retail architecture? At the new Stockland Gables centre, a perforated metal retail facade proves that you don’t need complex design or big budgets to make an impact.

The North-West Sydney retail development is the much-anticipated town centre for the local 6,000-plus Gables residents, providing an essential hub for everyday services including a Woolworths, restaurants, childcare and medical facilities.

Ensuring the design reflected its position as the heart of the community was critical to creating the right first impression – a place people want to be, with a warm, modern welcome.

A Retail Facade Designed to Perform

Arrow Metal’s popular P248 perforated pattern in 3mm aluminium was the solution for this retail facade project – but with a unique edge.

Specified in a sawtooth shape to match the angular roofline, the panels enhance the entire development, instantly adding cohesive character without complexity or cost.

Dulux Duratec Zeus in Lunar Eclipse was the perfect contrasting colour for the finish, completing a retail facade that performs as well as it looks. The perforations passively reduce glare and sunlight and help regulate temperature, ensuring energy efficiency and year-round comfort for shoppers and tenants in bright, well-ventilated interiors. The result is a retail space that looks contemporary yet feels local – ideal for the Gables growing community.

Unique Urban Retail Spaces – Without the Cost
