Cranebrook Village Shopping Centre: Custom Perforated Metal Panels

About this project

Custom perforated metal panels created by Arrow Metal are the perfect packaging for a new $14.1m retail centre near Penrith.

The striking geometric perforated metal façade of Cranebrook Village Shopping Centre was fabricated for retail developers Mainbrace Constructions, which chose to collaborate with Arrow Metal following recommendations about the quality of craftsmanship, bespoke metal design skills and service.

Arrow Metal’s flexible approach and metal expertise were essential to the success of the project, which saw numerous design revisions to the panels as the development progressed.

Custom perforated metal: Evolving panel designs

Durable aluminium sheets were perforated by Arrow Metal’s highly-skilled team with an architecturally-designed bespoke hexagon pattern, which runs horizontally and vertically. Each panel was powder coated and precision cut to size for perfect pattern match.

A change to the original design specification post-production, which took the open area on each panel from 68% to 25%, required further expertise from Arrow Metal.

Thanks to the team’s considerable design and manufacturing skills, the complex hexagonal design was successfully reproduced in a more enclosed pattern to meet the revised specification, whilst maintaining pattern consistency.

Arrow Metal also created the custom perforated metal balustrade for the development’s new car park. Featuring the same pattern but an opening size of 35%, an Arrow Metal project specialist visited the development to measure the exact panel sizes for a precise fit onsite.

Arrow Metal’s commitment to meeting evolving customer needs helped ensure the successful revival of Cranebrook Village Shopping Centre, transforming it into a thriving local hub.

Located on one of the main roads running through the area, the new development –which also includes a new amphitheatre and village green – is ideally positioned for the neighbourhood.

Featuring major supermarkets Aldi and Woolworths, speciality shops, eateries, cafes, beauty salons and on-site parking for 250 cars, the new multi-million dollar centre is a retail development the community can be proud of.
