Myer’s Christmas Wonderland: Metal Art Sculptures

Arrow Metal helped to put the magic into Myer’s Christmas festivities, supplying bespoke perforated sheets for metal art sculptures that sent seasonal shoppers soaring through the clouds.

Part of Myer’s Christmas Wonderland experience, the metal art clouds were created by light art work specialists McDermott Baxter, who tasked Arrow Metal with supplying the right metal material to bring the imaginative installation to life.

A custom-created cloudscape: Intricate perforated metal patterns for metal art sculptures

Arrow Metal manufactured bespoke perforated metal panels that featured intricate, delicate patterns, which would be used to form each of the five 2x3m cumulus and several smaller nimbus.

The reflective metal material and perforation pattern were key to the creation of each cloud’s magical, dreamscape light effect. Each cloud continuously changed colour from shades of white to blues, purples and pinks as soft delicate light filtered through.

Making Myer’s Christmas Wonderland magical

Myer shoppers were transported through the metal art sculptures as they journeyed on a rocket-ship elevator up to the immersive and interactive Wonderland. A land above the clouds where imagination rules and Christmas comes to life, Wonderland featured theatre, live entertainment, life-size toy displays, specially-themed fitting rooms, as well as the store’s iconic Giftorium.
