Perforated metal commercial furniture, shelving, cabinets, and drinks displays are the on-trend finishing touches for our latest hospitality project – the fitout of Wests Group Macarthur’s brand-new multimillion-dollar leisure venue in South-West Sydney.

The Sherwood in Leumeah is a new pub-style tavern next to Campbelltown Sports Stadium. It blends modern dining with live big-screen sports and entertainment, making it the hottest spot in the area for family gatherings, drinks with friends, or watching the footy.

With a large dining courtyard and lush greenery focal points of the venue, project contractors Beckton Joinery tasked us with manufacturing a variety of panels to craft commercial furniture, fixtures, and fittings, in a pattern that would complement the retro style, outdoor vibe, and premium texture finishes used throughout the club’s interiors, including marble, stone, timber, and gold.

Turning Perforated Panels into Commercial Furniture & Fittings

To fitout the Sherwood, we perforated mill finish aluminium and mild steel panels that were transformed into shelving, movable seating, drinks displays, screening, and buffet cabinetry. For the club’s wall cladding and screening we used 3mm aluminium sheets and for the commercial furniture and fixtures, we perforated 2mm mild steel, with all panels cut to a range of sizes.

As the brief involved curved edges and radiused corners, we precision bent selected panels to exactly the right degree to ensure Beckton Joinery could achieve the softly rounded industrial forms of the commercial furniture, cabinetry, and displays to match the design concept.

All panels throughout the Sherwood are punched with classic pattern 252 – a staggered 12.7mm round-hole design in a 49% open area for maximum strength and style – and were powder-coated post-manufacture in dark blue for a modern, contrasting finish.

A Cohesive Feature for Commercial & Hospitality Interiors

Our project for the Sherwood is a great example of the versatility of perforated metal for large multi-area hospitality and commercial venues where cohesive decor is critical.

By specifying our perforated metal sheets in different ways throughout the Sherwood, the panels become a familiar feature design element that brings the zones together, creating welcoming, vibrant, and open spaces that invite good times.
