Narellan Town Centre Play Area: Perforated Metal Screens

Arrow Metal added a playful perforated touch of colour and imagery to an interactive kids area at the new redeveloped Narellan Town Centre shopping mall, creating perforated metal screens that feature illustrations.

The perforated metal screens create a circular playground in the outdoor precinct of the new $200m leisure and retail development. But the screens aren’t just standard specification. Look closely and you’ll see the screens feature fun designs from nature to transport, making the area a vibrant and exciting sensory experience.

The perforated metal screens at Narellan Town Centre’s play area had to be visually fun for youngsters, reflecting the local area. Each screen was specified with its own illustrated design, ranging from trains to trees. A challenge for most metal manufacturers, but not Arrow Metal.

Arrow Metal’s state-of-the-art machinery offers hundreds of different tooling configurations. Logos, graphics or brand messages can be accurately incorporated using Arrow Metal’s specialised techniques. Each coloured panel for Narellan Town Centre was carefully perforated by Arrow Metal to form the intricate illustrations, the project also included the addition of text, with a quote about local history featuring prominently in the new play area.

Narellan Town Centre’s multi-million dollar expansion and redevelopment has doubled retail space, attracting big name retailers and brands and creating a new indoor/outdoor restaurant precinct. The custom perforated metal screens don’t just serve a practical purpose at Narellan Town Centre’s play area, but help make the development a focal point for the local area.
