Education Buildings Upgrade, Pittwater House

One of Sydney’s top schools has been transformed into a colourful and cohesive modern campus thanks to the innovative use of Arrow Metal perforated panels to makeover its education buildings.

Pittwater House School in Collaroy, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, needed a solution to modernise its education buildings as part of a major $14m upgrade without the disruption, cost, and environmental impact of redeveloping every building and facade. The answer: Perforated metal.

Installed throughout the campus, our perforated panels not only help to cover the dated red brick buildings but have also innovatively created new classroom-connecting galleries and balconies, giving students fast and easy access around school and fresh-air spaces to learn. 

Revamping Old Education Buildings with Perforated Metal

For Pittwater House School’s transformation, we worked closely with project contractors Grindley Construction and installers JM Engineering to help deliver the masterplan of architects Neeson Murcutt Neille. 

We manufactured over 476m2 of perforated metal to meet the complex brief specified in pattern 234. A classic round hole profile, pattern 234 provided students with the required solar shading and weather resistance without compromising the ventilation and views of the surroundings.

In total, we delivered over 270 panels, cut to over 140 different sizes and ready for powder-coating in the school’s bright colour scheme of pastel blue and green that reflects its coastal location and new way of learning.
