Perforated metal for hotels and hospitality
Check in and check out these hotels around the world, which all use perforated metal or wire mesh as a key architectural feature. Although you might not expect these materials to be your fellow guests, metal mesh and perforated metal for hotels help to create unique and stylish surroundings for a memorable stay.
Take a tour of some of our favourite venues to explore all the different ways perforated metal and mesh can be used in hospitality:
Tree top hotel, Denmark
Architect Sigurd Larsen has really branched out with these cabins in Denmark. The nine individual rooms are built around tree trunks for a real-life tree house experience. Metal screens around the facade-mounted outdoor showers protect the privacy of cabin guests, whilst delicate metal mesh balconies around the roof terraces give a spacious sense of relaxation without interrupting the landscape and the view.

L’Arlatan Hotel, France
With such a lavish interior it’s hard to believe that this hotel building dates back to the 5th century and is listed as ‘Monument Historique’. Created by renowned artist Jorge Pardo, you’ll find all sorts of unusual and eclectic fixtures and fittings, including 6,000 square metres of mosaic made from two million handmade fragments. And of course, our most favourite features, the spectacular perforated metal balustrade on the feature staircase and the extravagant metal wall panels in the cocktail bar.

Condominio Monti, Rome
Condominio Monti is a bella boutique example of perforated metal for hotels. Italian architects Studio Tamat and designer Sabina Guidotti used the material to create a feature terrace and interior touches, with a natural air of Italian flair that’s oh-so-subtle and chic. The cream powder-coated perforated metal of the café terrace perfectly complements the soft sunset hues of surrounding buildings. Step inside and there’s more perforated metal, used in both white and black in suite interiors.

Grow Hotel, Stockholm
The interior design of this hotel in Stockholm by Note Design Studio is growing on us! The Grow Hotel is a real peach when it comes to perforated metal for hotels. The orange shade of the perforated metal ceiling and storage units create a warm and soothing experience for weary travellers. A small guest kitchen is decked out in complementary green, illuminated by perforated metal light fixtures. It’s a comforting cocoon of colour and we love the unusual choice of the perforated metal finishes.
