Ordering Perforated Stainless Sheet

Looking for a perforated metal that’s hygienic, attractive, corrosive-resistant and durable? Then consider perforated stainless sheet. It’s one of our most popular products at Arrow Metal. Let’s look at the reasons why, and how you can use it in your projects, too.

Perforated stainless sheet advantages

Stainless steel offers many benefits to architects and designers. Its greatest advantage is, of course, its corrosion resistance. All types of stainless steel – and there are many different grades – are resistant to corrosion, with some offering more resistance than others.

Another big benefit of stainless steel – particularly at the moment for Covid-safe environments – is that it’s non-porous. This makes it easy to thoroughly sanitise and clean if it’s being used in accessible areas.

At Arrow Metal, we perforate 316 and 304 grade stainless steel. 304 grade is great for everyday architectural applications, whilst 316 grade is ideal for corrosive environments such as coastal, marine locations.

These types of perforated stainless sheet:

  • Provide an attractive surface and modern, contemporary appearance
  • Are easily perforated in a range of patterns without compromising strength and durability
  • Are fire, heat and damage resistant
  • Require minimal maintenance and perform consistently, reducing life-cycle costs
  • Are available in a range of colours and surface finishes
  • Are environmentally-friendly – stainless steel is 100% recyclable

We’ll advise which type of stainless steel is best for your project, based on performance requirements and location.

How perforated stainless sheet is made at Arrow Metal

We make perforated stainless steel at our Silverwater factory, using the very latest in punching equipment for fast and accurate perforation.

The punching machinery – which perforates the metal at speeds of up to 500 hits per minute – is set up by our experienced team to make each sheet to your exact specifications, taking into account required pattern joins and margins for a seamless appearance.

If we’re making perforated stainless steel in your own custom design, the machinery is driven by CAD software. This gives you the freedom to create very complex designs and patterns, mixing perforation styles in a single sheet.

Your perforated sheets are quality checked by our team before being shipped direct to you for installation on-site. We supply perforated stainless sheet to architects and designers Australia-wide.

Common uses for perforated stainless sheet

Because of its corrosive-resistant properties and its aesthetic benefits, perforated stainless steel is versatile across exterior and interior architectural projects. It can be used as facade, for structural architecture or decorative applications.

Take a look at how it was used to create a sense of flow for the Wynyard to Barangaroo passenger tunnel. We manufactured perforated stainless steel ceiling panels in a custom pattern, which were cut to fit around the architect’s ‘stream of light’ that guides passengers through the impressive walkway.
