Most popular perforated metal & wire mesh

What’s hot in the world of perforated metal right now? Knowing what’s a top-seller is a good place to start for metal material inspiration. Here’s a run-down of some of Arrow Metal’s most popular perforated metal and wire mesh designs, and some of the amazing, on-trend ways they’ve been used:

Profiles WOB-9516 & WOB-9516D: Brass wire mesh

Brass is one metal that’s showing no sign of slipping down the popular perforated metal and wire mesh charts.

With a warm hue that’s richer than gold, it’s the perfect material when you want to add a touch of old-school vintage glamour to interiors.

Perforated metal can be finished with a brass-effect gold coating for a cost-effective and oh-so-chic look; whilst brass wire mesh is the real deal for effortless styling.

So it’s no surprise that not one but two brass wire mesh profiles are in our best-sellers list. WOB-9516 and its double-wire duplicate WOB-9516 were the perfect duet for restoring the historic Victorian lifts at Sydney’s iconic QVB Building. Both these profiles are ready to ship as panels or rolls.

Profile P244: Round-hole perforated metal

Round-hole has long been the most popular perforated metal profile and it’s not hard to see why the simple circle is one of the top favourites.

A universally-appealing shape for almost any type of project, round-hole perforated metal might look basic but it’s actually one of the strongest patterns that we can punch.

Profile P244 features 9.5mm diameter holes in a staggered arrangement, making it ideal for privacy and visibility. It’s why this profile was specified at Gosford Hospital, for its new staff walkway. P244 is so popular it’s an in-stock product that we always have ready to go.

Profile P376: Round-end slot perforated metal

A recent entry into the on-trend chart is the round-end slot. A rectangle with curved ends, it’s a soft and stylish solution when you want a shape with a bit more edge.

One of the best things about this pattern is the flexibility. Create a mesh-type transparent sheet or go big and bold – it all depends on the open area percentage you specify.

Slimline round-end slot shape P376 was specified at the University of Newcastle’s prestigious NeW Space education precinct for its innovative internal/external learning booths.

Profile P376 maintains the privacy of studying students whilst filtering light and air, meeting wind resistance criteria without compromising the building’s amazing, award-winning architecture.

Profile P610: Hexagon perforated metal

Honeycomb pattern P610 is a sweet addition to our most popular perforated metal list. Hexagonal holes have made a real buzz in the architecture and design world thanks to their attention-grabbing geometric style that leaves much of the sheet as open space.

You’ll see profile P610 enveloping the windows of the Golston jewellery store at Westfield Sydney. Installed as a lightbox effect, the hexagonal perforated metal was finished in brass to match the branding, with the pattern filtering the perfect amount of light for maximum sparkle and shine.
